Les Riceys, the southernmost commune in Champagne, is a small town with character and an exceptional wine-growing heritage. It stands out for having the largest wine-growing area in the appellation and for the absolute dominance of Pinot Noir, which accounts for 91% of the vintage.
The village is organised around three hamlets and three churches, hence the plural name: Ricey-Haut, Ricey Haute Rive and Ricey-Bas. The vintage also has the unique distinction of combining three appellations: Champagne, Coteaux Champenois and the rare Rosé des Riceys.
But here, what inspires us above all is its unique terroir: the marly Kimmeridgian with exogyres, from the Upper Jurassic period – a geological age during which certain dinosaurs, such as the Allosaurus, lived, which can be found on the first label of the new range.
Remarkable soil, ideal exposure and suitable plant material, enhanced by the estate’s viticulture, give these exceptional Pinot Noirs their personality and depth.
